Is there a marked difference between the behavior of students at Harvard and those students typical of most colleges? By behavior, I mean amiability, camaraderie, social dispositions–things like that.

Nope. Maybe they work harder than many kids at less intense schools (weekends don’t start Wednesday night and end on Tuesday like at some places) but they party, they make stupid mistakes, they fall in love, they fall out of love, they argue with each other, they make great friends for the rest of their lives, they are alone studying, they are liberal, radicals and some conservatives. They have big dreams and no idea what comes next, they miss where they come from and are glad to be going on to somewhere else. They can’t wait for summer and they can’t wait to be back on campus. They are in the process of figuring out who they are.

In short they are college students…that’s all.

^beautiful.

I love etondad’s response.

Yeah that was very poetic!

I actually teared up a little at that, very nice.
