<p>My son is entering a few composition competitions and is sending the same piece/s to each. Is this recommended or should different compositions be sent to each? Not sure if it’s like writing for magazines; i.e. if one publication <em>buys</em> the piece, it often times cannot be published/shared elsewhere. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks.</p>
<p>Same piece is fine. Not a problem at all.</p>
<p>Check to make sure that the compositions fit the guidelines of each competition. Have your son’s composition teacher proofread the compositions before they’re sent out. Read the rules carefully to make sure the competition doesn’t specify that the piece has to be composed exclusively for the competition. Best of luck to your son!</p>
<p>Some of the competitions may require that the piece was composed in the last year.</p>
