Okay you guys this has nothing to do with the original subject anymore… This does remind me of galoisien lol…

I’m a vegan and I demanded that my dining plan be cancelled immediately. I, of course, put on a very good fight, they gave up and I got my money back. Do not let those ***holes get your money especially for the disgusting, nasty, non-organic food that they serve, it’s literally poison.

I agree, hazelorb. You need to check the thread in the Parent Cafe about recyling brine!

Hazelorb…i thought the same thing, but didnt want to bust in as a parent.

The re using brine made me wonder and the dining on flour and water sealed it for me.

Unless of course there are two students at UVA who eat flour, water and spices…I’m used to odd diets, my daughter survived four years there on cheap champagne and cheese. Her sister eats cereal for two meals a day.

Huh? I don’t dine on flour and water …

The fact that subjects so unrelated to college admission are in this thread make me truly wonder if our WuTang fan is our dear Galosien. If not, we must get them together.

Wu, get yourself to the dining hall between 7:20 PM and 8 PM or go to the late night spots. In a season of sacrifice, having to go a little out of your way isn’t the most important thing in the world.

Oh, and throw away the brine.

Sounds like Galosien.

Eggs are $3 at Kroger, they were $5 at Whole Foods yesterday. That works out to over $1 for 4 eggs. Maybe you get your eggs in powder.

Everything you suggested cooking sounds terrible for your health, almost as healthy as poisoning yourself with reusing brine from raw poultry and eating two month old eggs.

I dunno where you are getting your prices from.

At Kroger, it’s 2.97 for 30 eggs (and if you want to buy in smaller portions, 1.97 for 18), so 4 eggs = 40 cents. If you buy up from further up 29, it’s even cheaper, bringing it to 30 cents.

You can totally add fruit to egg tart … (my recipe is a variation on this one: [Hong Kong Style Egg Tarts - All Recipes](http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Hong-Kong-Style-Egg-Tarts/Detail.aspx)) … and it’s a delicacy in Asia.

Today was Eid, lol. Ramadan is over. I was just saying that it’s kind of insensitive to impose such a rigid dining plan on students, especially when it costs $1795/semester.

Try to stay with me. This may seem like a difficult concept.

When you swipe into the dining hall, you can ask them for this magical thing that allows you to take food out of the dining hall. It’s called a take out box.

Now, you take this mythical take out box and fill it with (surprise!) food. You also get 2 super chic cups to fill. You can put liquids in it (surprise) or solid food (yipee!)

You take this mythical box + associated cups home. And you eat it when the sun goes down. If your food goes cold, there’s another amazing invention we have these days: the microwave. If you turn it on and your food is inside, it’ll warm it! Just imagine!

Seriously, just take 2 seconds to think. I have a lot of friends who are Muslims and observe Ramadan very strictly (unlike you) and they had no problem with the dining plan. They would use the extra meals to go in during lunch and stock up on cereal for the next morning.
