Explain the prestige angle vs just adding majors ? I don’t see that.

Being an independent college means you have higher visibility than just being a dept in a larger college. You are free to operate in your own best interests and prioritize them. It’s a sign that the university has made your area a higher priority. Most universities budgets are made by the individual colleges and you have to fight other depts for faculty lines and all other resources. Also I think it will help with fundraising. The naming rights to the college could easily be worth $100 million or more. The EPIC College of ………
