Hey! So im a student Who currently is attending highly school here in Sweden. I wanna attend a college in USA because i simply want to live there in the future.
I have a SAT score of 2000 and averege of B in grades.
So i have checked out the following colleges: University of Florida, University of Wisconsin, University of Arizona, San Diego state, Texas A&M, University of Houston.
I have no idea what college to take a closer look at. Ofcourse i want the school to have a fairly good reputation and academics, but i also want to have a good time while attending by that i man parties etc.
Do you know any other schools i should take a look at? No ivy schools as i have no chance to get into them and because of the ridicoulus out of state tuition costs.
Ivies don’t have OOS tuition costs.
However, the other schools on your list do. How much will your family pay?
Also…what is your math + cr score
I don’t think parties and math or CS/CE mix very well.
Texas Tech I think is pretty good. Lubbock is pretty flat, though, and the area has very little public land. I.E. not so much for outdoor recreation.
That said, for a very different experience from Sweden, maybe consider New Mexico Tech. Socorro is tiny (17000 people in the county and the county is roughly 120km by 150km), but it has the control rooms for the Very Large Array, is home to the Terminal Effects Research … something or other (they blow stuff up), and is the second closest town to Trinity Site. Also nearby is a lightning research lab on top of South Baldy at 3200m. Lots of outdoor recreation with mountains and a huge amount of public space. And while I’ve seen it snow there, it doesn’t last long.
Decent reputation, modest price. Not so much for the parties though.
