I just figured out I got accepted to a college summer program. They “recommend” a windows PC laptop there. The problem is, I have a very nice PC desktop that I built with the following specs:
-Intel 3570k processor (quad core i5)
-2GB Graphics Card (AMD Radeon 7870)
-500GB Hybrid Hard Drive
-DVD
-Windows 7 Professional
-Has CAD installed through school license
-23 inch Dell IPS Monitor
I also looked at a laptop, like the Lenovo W550s. (The superfish virus was uninstalled for new computers, so that should not be an issue.)

nVidia K620M
i7 Dual Core Processor (so it will be slightly slower than i5 quad core)
500GB Hybrid Hard Drive
no DVD
Windows 7 Professional

Do you think I should take my desktop to college and save 1230 dollars or buy the laptop for convenience?
