<p>This is more or less a poll, so which area do you think is better and why?</p>
<p>You need to mention specific areas. There are many in-between or crossover topics that some schools classify as HW and others as SW, some as EE, others as CompE, or CS.</p>
<p>With regard to jobs, I think there are much more opportunities in SW. Many EE folks get jobs in SW.</p>
