Computer Science at UM

First off, I know basically nothing about computers (except for the basic usuage…word, powerpoint, internet, etc…) but I really want to learn more about them in a comprehensive manner as I look at computers as essential tools for success in this day and age (almost like learning that 2nd or 3rd language). However, if I decided to major in CS (I’ll probably be double majoring with econ) or perhaps minor in CS, will I get murdered due to my sad inexperience with computers? Also, since I have accepted the invitation to the honors program, does CS have a separate curriculum/courses for honor students like some of the other departments?

To be honest, I think you’ll get murdered. CS is tough to begin with, and if you have no computer experience, I think you will have a hard time getting your head around the concepts. You should at least know a little about computer programming before you enter the classroom.
