Computer Science Colleges Help

Are those very good colleges:
Neumont University
University of Advancing Technology

I received ads from these colleges. Do you think I should ignore them based on the fact that they send ads for me? Is it true that very good colleges don’t send ads?

In addition, based on my research, Neumont is a kind of university that train people to work in companies like eBay and Nowell.

Neumont is not regionally accredited.

Emm…
I think an analogy is good…
Do you watch TV? When you see a cereal ad saying that their cereal is the most delicious cereal in the world, do you go to the supermarket and ask the cashier, “Is it true that ___ cereal is the most delicious cereal in the world?”

I would ignore email ads. However, it is not true to very good colleges don’t send ads. Some do. You should do your own research.

Neumont is accredited by the ACICS, which is a very low-tier (IMO) accreditation body that typically accredits universities like the for-profit ITT Technical Institute and other vocationally oriented “colleges.” The ACICS is legitimate, however.

I’m pretty sure that both of those colleges are for-profit colleges, as opposed to a public or non-profit college. I don’t know if that means anything to you, but I’ve heard that for-profit colleges are good at getting your money.

So it’s up to you to decide if you want to spend money on an institution like that.
If you’re still looking for non-profit universities that offer computer science programs, I’d check out these techy colleges:
MIT
Georgia Tech
Carnegie Mellon
RPI
WPI
Stevens Institute of Technology
RIT
^There’s a range in selectivity and caliber, so you’ll have to do some research.
And for game design, I hear that USC has the best program ([Top Undergraduate Schools for Video Game Design](2023 Top Game Design Schools | The Princeton Review))
Typically, if a college is advertising (publicly, on tv and the internet), that means it is either for profit or can’t get enough people to apply. If a college is sending you mail because you checked a box on the SAT or PSAT, that doesn’t really mean anything. College mail/ads can give you ideas of where to start your research, but I wouldn’t get any ideas of the school’s caliber or interest in you based on that kind of stuff. All types of schools send mail to all types of people.

Thanks y’all (you all - a phrase used by southerners). That’s what I was thinking.

More comments would be appreciated.

And yeah, Stevens and Georgia Tech are one of my choices too, any comments?
