Hello to all! I am hoping to get a response from a CS major on the following question. How difficult is computer science as a whole if one is decent at math but not GIFTED. Also, is Computer Systems a great concentration? I will be attending UIC for this major in the fall of 2012. Thanks and hopefully someone can enlighten me.

P.S. would it be wise for me to minor in business information systems?

Not everyone is a gifted person. Each person is born with some talents. Talents doesn’t mean you are a genius. Some genius are bad at math but they are artistic genius. Just try. If you don’t enjoy even with the hard-work, then decide again. Life is difficult too. Why are you still alive? Our genes have the memory from our ancestors, and that’s why we can still survive. (May be not our generation,)

No. There’s no use a minor in BIS. I mean, it’s more like a business degree, and you do very little CS. The basic stuff which you should know by taking your CS class. Some IS programs are more difficult than others… that’s another story.
