Computer Science in Northeast region/New England

Looking for recommendations to consider for junior interested in computer science in Northeast region / New England. 1350 SAT, weighted GPA 4.1, prob top 20% of class, school does not give official rankings. Will have 7 APs, 2 in computer science (concepts & JAVA), plus Honors Physics, Calculus. Looking for selective academic liberal arts w/ strong CS program. Have toured WPI, Wentworth, Northeastern. Looking at UConn, Penn State, Lehigh, Bucknell. What are we missing? Small to large institutions welcome.

How about RPI?

Along the lines of the few tech-oriented schools you have listed, look into RIT.

It might be helpful to post a chance-me thread and fill out the template.

RPI is a great school for all STEM! Highly recommend.

Have you considered U.Mass Amherst? It is very good for CS. I do not think that it is a safety for CS, and it might be a reach.

Union College in Schenectady may be of interest as well. Liberal arts, but with quite a lot of STEM including CS.

A couple things - what is the unweighted GPA. A 4.1 weighted could be - well, anything. A 2.5 or 3.8, etc. Unweighted allow a true comparison.

Take your academic classes (remove PE) and give a 4 for an A, 3 for a B, 2 for a C, etc.

Add the points and divide by # of clasees.

Secondly, you want a liberal arts background and I see some names that wouldn’t necessarily fulfill that.

What are the APs in? What have you thought of the schools you’ve been to? Which did you like and why? Which didn’t you like and why?

What type of budget do you have - as you can spend - probably in the NE - $30K to $100K.

Thanks

UMass Lowell might be a safety, or maybe a match.

Aside from needing unweighted GPA in core courses only (if your school doesn’t calculate that, do it yourself) and any budget constraints, are there any CS related activities? Posting a chance me would be helpful.
