My situation is a bit tricky and I need advice on which UG CS attend.CCNY/QC are free due to financial aid, RIT is almost entirely free(just 3k due each year), and Hofstra offered a 19k transfer scholarship + FA + loans. I would like to start ASAP but I’m unable to apply for the CCNY because I do not have a calculus II course under my belt as for the other colleges I am able be admitted into their programs my first semester. If it makes any difference I have an AAS from NCC. Given my situation which is my best option.
If you don’t mind living in Rochester and dorming, RIT all the way. You get a solid CS education there and you also have the co-op program which gives you a huge step up when applying for jobs. Hofstra is not worth it. City college is fine but you have to deal with the cuny bureaucracy which is always a pain. Queens college, I don’t really recommend because ccny is a better option unless you live in flushing or something and don’t feel like commuting.
