I am deciding whether GMU or VTECH would be better for an instate undergrad .I heard that GMU has the same computer science undergrad as VTECH in terms of education, and that GMU is cheaper to go to. However, the information I get are biased as they are mainly from people that have graduated from GMU. As for the other people that haven’t gone to GMU, they said that VTECH and GMU are the same, except VTECH is better after you get past your core classes.I’m not sure what to believe in terms of what I’ve heard, so I need help deciding which is correct, or if what I heard from people are completely wrong.
I don’t think there is a huge difference in education, reputation, opportunities so I would visit both and see which one you personally prefer.
VTECH will have more school spirit, more alumni, more name recognition around the country as you apply for jobs, etc. “Cheaper to go to” is not always the best choice, unless finances are your top priority. There is so much more to compare besides the CS curriculum.
