Hello,

I’m an international student who graduated from a state university in the US 2 years ago. During my military service during the past year, I decided to give up getting myself employed and instead pursue a graduate degree in neuroscience, the field of study that I had never considered as one of my interests. I applied to Harvard MCB department in a hope to build basic knowledge in biological sciences before applying to the graduate school and got admitted for 2012-13 academic year. During this year-long program, I’m expecting to have some courseworks and (hopefully) research that would involve, among other things, molecular & cell biology, Animal behavior, and introductory neuroscience. A math and econ major as an UG, I used Matlab and Excel frequently in labs and for homework, but I have no idea what computer skills would be expected or recommended for students majoring in biological sciences in general and neuroscience in particular. Could anyone provide me with a helpful answer to this question?
