computers on campus

Do people generally take notes on laptops? Are laptops more useful than desktops? In general, what type of computer do you find most useful for Caltech? I hate how much more laptops cost for the same power as a desktop, so I’ve been looking at keyboard with some memory in them. Do any of y’all do something like that? All ideas welcome.

I’ve seen a few people take notes in core classes on laptops, but not many. Usually the laptops are used for chat rooms during lecture. I have both a laptop and desktop, and have yet to use my laptop.

By far, most freshmen have laptops as opposed to desktops- usually the people with desktops are people who want the performance.
