computers

what kind of computers are you’ll getting for school. I think i might get a ibook but only so that i can use ichat. but dell is more bang for the buck so …

I gonna bring my Sony vaio.

hp good rig!@!!

Sono VAIO laptop.

I’m building myself a rig based off the Pentium Conrad system; I’m hoping for it to come out in the summer so I don’t have any downtime during school.

Besides that, I’ll probably take my iBook and a modified Toshiba/ASUS laptop.

Toshiba laptops suck, they overheat every 10 minutes.

I heard Dell laptops catch fire/blow up or something, same with Toshiba

I think I’m getting a Macbook, or whatever it’s called. I don’t really care as long as it looks good, works well, has got lots of space and isn’t too expensive.

I kept the frame the same for my Toshiba, but changed the mobile heatsink and changed the faulty mobo to an ASUS. It never overheats now.

can anyone answer my question on how/when on myapplication, they see
Transcripts Validated Requirement Met.

i’m a transfer student, i don’t even have an option where Transcripts could be validated?

If your laptop overheats a lot, you might want to get a laptop cooler. My vaio got really hot, so i decided to get one. Now it doesn’t get hot as much and i can keep it on for a long time.

WoahWhatThe, are you going to the commuter thing?

do you know if/when we have orientation or is that commuter thing th eorientation?!

I got a dell inspiron E1405 and im satisfied

Hobo- Orientation and the Communter thing is two different events. Did you get into USC?

PM me your AIM, hobo, if you’ve got it, I want to ask you some questions about the status of your admissions cause we’re both former UCR students and sh`t. if thats cool with you.

Vaio (VGN-FS680/w for those who care about that type of stuff lol)

Trusty, been running a year and a half solid now. Never had a single issue with it.

Next time around though, in a year or two, I’m probably going the Macbook Pro route. Once Leopard and Vista are both out, and all the kinks have been worked out of dual booting, I’ll make the switch.

alright i pmed you… do you ahve any info on the orientation?? i don’ thtink i got anything about orientation…

a lot of people who bring both a laptop and a desktop often wish that they had just brought a laptop. You will be struggling for deskspace, and if you’re using a CRT monitor, you’re not really going to have much of a desk left. I say go with a good lightweight laptop, not some super thick laptop, but something you wont mind bringing places, or be using away from your desk.

Mac. Book. Pro.

I love it.

Get one.

lol macs get very hot if left on for long periods of time, plus u dont have the freedom of a pc with macs, lol , hp will do it for me :)

^^ WRONG

Welcome to Dual Booting  Now Macs are SUPER PCs.

EDIT: Oh, and most high-end laptops, PC or Mac, get hot these days; its quite bearable though.

^^ Welcome to PARALLELS on Mac!

I can run OS X and Win XP simultaneously and switch between them with Ctrl+Shift+(Left or Right). Can even copy/paste between 2 OS’es.

See this for example (not mine, but same thing): http://youtube.com/watch?v=uf5EArv4Lck

I’ve had good luck with HP’s support too though, so I’d say good choice.
