which schools allow you to bring laptops to class, i think thats really cool
does andover allow it?

ps. way of topic but whatever- i hate school that have classes that only meet a couple times a week and the classes are 90 minutes long (uhh), and then you have long homework assignments and you have the urge to procrastinate
i know governors does that, what other schools?

sps allows you to bring them, however most kids don’t

nmh has block scheduling…three classes a term at 1.5 (approx) hours each. You may bring laptops to class, but it is not necessary and most kids do not.

Wow… 1.5 hours??? Do they at least get a break?

I don’t know…I think block scheduling is becoming fairly common across the country. Several schools in our state have it…my kids started in middle school and my daughters MA public school also does that. My niece’s husband graduated from Proctor Academy 8 years ago and they had block scheduling then.
It’s not like they just sit in one spot the entire time, though. For instance, with physics, the lab is included so you are up and moving around. There’s lots of participation and discussion as NMH uses the Harkness method in many of the classes.

I have seen a major change this year at Miss Porter’s. The campus implemented campus wide wireless last summer.Teachers, while discussing something, will say “Google that”. Girls exchange notes electronically and it really helps when someone is absent.
