<p>Not at all. For some more technical or “computer-centric” majors, a certain brand might be more appropriate because of software or something. I’d say you should call the undergraduate studies office in the department and find out. But the average student, who uses the computer to write papers and work on the occasional spreadsheet, can bring anything.</p>
<p>Most of the computer labs have both Macs and PCs available (I’ve used them once or twice to run Windows-only supplementary software that comes with a textbook).</p>
<p>Don’t forget about a lock if you do decide on a laptop!</p>
