Concerning low admit rate from my school?

I go to a small alternative school in NYC that’s pretty well established and known amongst colleges and extremely competitive to get into (I think 1500-3000 applicants each year for around 60 spots). I was looking at my schools Naviance (which is updated) and our admit rate to Wesleyan was so shockingly low… We’ve had 37 kids apply to Wes, and 2 accepted.
What does this mean?
Does Wesleyan just dislike my school or…? Is there any other possible explanation

Perhaps yield protection. In previous years, did a high percentage of accepted students snub Wesleyan and matriculate elsewhere?

That is hard to know. I wouldn’t assume yield protection. Some high schools do better with some colleges, for a variety of reasons. You’d have to know a lot more to answer the question. In watching admissions play out over several cycles, it does appear to me that it is safest to apply early if possible and that it can be a crapshoot at elite or other schools in the regular decision round for many.
