<p>Since Drake’s gonna be performing this weekend at Cornell, I was wondering if McGill ever has big time music stars come in to have concerts for McGill students or does that never happen?</p>
<p>University sponsored concerts are pretty much a phenomenon of college towns like Ithaca, where students are the only market. Here is a list of big name concerts coming up in Montreal:

<p>McGill and SSMU do sponsor concerts on occasion, but they do not take place on campus generally as it is neither suitable or desirable for either parties. They take place at regular venues throughout the city, but McGill students often get preference or discounts.</p>
<p>An example off the top of my head was “Girl Talk” at Metropolis this past March.
