Concord Academy Recommendations

My niece is starting at Concord Academy in the fall and I’m putting together a gift for her and looking for recommendations from students about where students hang out in Concord. I’d like to buy her a series of gift cards, something like:

  • For when you need a quick bite to eat (gift card for pizza place)
  • For when you need a pick me up (gift card to a local coffee shop)
  • For when you need a break (gift card to a movie theater)
  • For when you need some retail therapy (gift card to a cool store in town)

…or something similar. Never having been to Concord myself, I am looking for recommendations of what stores/restaurants/cafes/activities she would be likely to enjoy. For example, is there a great pizza place? A popular cafe? A store that everyone goes to?

Any suggestions (of what to get or what to avoid) would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Cafe Nero is just a couple of blocks away. As is Haute Coffee. I’ve definitely seen kids in Haute Coffee, but Nero is a little cuter and has a bigger menu and offers more than just coffee. There is also Dunks and Starbucks. All are an easy walk from campus. So, the question might be, do you want her to try something new, or have a little taste of home? Maybe have her try all of them.

There isn’t a nearby movie theater. They might do a shuttle to Littleton (ONeill) or Burlington (AMC), but it’s usually hard with start/end times.

People rave about Karma if she likes sushi/Asian food. It’s a bit pricey for a student budget, but a nice treat.

For pizza, there is New London or Sorrento’s. I can’t eat pizza, so I’m of no help there but New London is thicker and Sorrento’s is more of a brick oven pizza.

I’d definitely throw one in for Priscilla’s candy store and Bedford Farms ice cream.

My son goes to a different boarding school and to be honest, kids just really like to DoorDash. Maybe it’s different at CA with places within walking distance.
