Concordia University, Irvine - Biology

I am thinking of going to Concordia, Irvine, as a biology major. Obviously, the church is associated with the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, so the classes are taught with the church in mind. Do the school’s teachings on subjects critical to science (namely evolution/intelligent design) conflict with accepted scientific truth and if so, how? I read that the LCMS’ official stance is in favor of intelligent design, and this has me concerned. I am in love with other aspects of the school, but I want to learn science, not how to fight it.

Concordia is top on my list because they offer many of the groups I’m interested, notably music and diving.

I am also looking at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and UC Irvine. I’m applying to UC San Diego as well, but I think admission is unlikely. Feel free to comment on these as well.

Concordia is the easiest to get into and they have the best dorms, but Point Loma’s location is to die for and their dorms over look the ocean! UC Irvine is fairly easy to get into, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up about UC San Diego because they are known for their science majors and those are super competitive.
