I’m going to be a senior in hs this upcoming school year and I was wondering if I should take Composition I or Speech. I’m already enrolled in Speech. What should I do?
Do you mean a concurrent college class while a senior? If you’re interested in highly selective colleges, I’d take Composition as it will likely be viewed as more rigorous in the admissions process. And, you might be able to use the credit to skip a required class in college whereas speech is likely an an elective as opposed to gen ed course.
That said, if speech ties into your ECs in a particular way and you want to use it to present yourself in your application, then it could be the better choice. Otherwise, take the comp class.
