Conditional Admission

UC Berkeley gave me conditional admission which says “Continued progress in your course work is essential to your academic success at Berkeley. We urge you to earn the highest grades possible as you complete this academic year.” My question is, does it mean that I have to get “A” in all the classes I am enrolled in right now? I am worried, please help.

Generally it means no grade below C and your spring semester GPA isn’t below 3.0

Historically, UCs have mostly specified a GPA (historically 3.0 in most cases) with no grade lower than C. Do your admission conditions include something like that?

They said, "You will complete all UC-transferable courses in Winter and/or Spring 2024 terms with a 3.0 or higher GPA and no grade lower than a C . "

That’s your answer then

Thankyou so much for clarifying.

That’s it.

But you may want to do as well as you can in your in-progress courses. The better you do, the better you will be prepared for course work at UCB after transfer. Also, if you aim for A grades and miss by a bit with a B grade among A grades in the rest, there is no risk of falling below 3.0. But if you aim for B grades and miss by a bit with a C grade among B grades in the rest, that is more risky.
