I was recently given conditional transfer by Emory. I think that it may be a good plan to transfer, but I would like to hear what you guys have to say about the advantages and disadvantages about being a transfer student(scholarships, student life, etc).

To me it totally depends on where you are now. If you are at a U.S. News 50 - 100 school and have a chance to go to the Emory then it’s probably worthwhile. If the schools are closer in quality then you have to weigh the possible downsides more carefully. It also might depend somewhat on the major you are considering.

It really depends on whether or not you are happy at your new school. If you are, and it is a decent school, I would personally stay. It would be tough to adjust to an entire new school all over again, especially with things like social life…

Hitch123-Right now the school that I’m going to is ranked 140. It is considered the best school for medicine in MS. I really would like to go to a really good medical school. The question now is whether Emory is worth the investment.
