Do colleges look at the “conduct” section on your transcript? I’ve gotten O’s and O+'s all through high school, but all of a sudden, one of my teachers gave me an S for this first semester of senior year (completely undeserved, and I’m going to talk to him about it, but I doubt he can change it now). Do colleges look at this or not?

Anyone know? :)

Hm, my school doesn’t even grade our conduct! Can you explain what "O"s and "S"s stand for? [is it outstanding vs satisfactory?]

For some reason, unless you’ve gotten suspension or done something terrible to warrant actual punishment, I don’t think that colleges will care at all, especially since it’s per trimester.

Don’t get it changed [like you said…probably impossible], but DO talk to him for next semester [midyear reports!].

Good luck!!

They probably care less than I do.

What the hell is an O+ anyway?

My HS gave out conduct grades, they were not on my transcript when I applied for college. Also, you teacher might have given you the S because while you did not disrupt class you didn’t do anything that merits an O. You are not entitled to have everyone think good things of you.

Why would colleges care about an S? It means satisfactory, which is perfectly fine. At my school, many teachers never give O just give S to everyone. Just chill it’s totally irrelevant and probably not on your transcript anyway.

Well, this is my midyear report. :-/ But if you guys all think it doesn’t matter, then I guess it doesn’t and I won’t mention it. Thanks for the replies!

What do you think merits an O? Most of the kids are loud, speak out of turn, say rude things to the teacher on a daily basis, et cetera. If I–who always am one of the very few who is always polite, nice, friendly, studious, and attentive during class–do not deserve an O, then I have to assume he gives S’s to everyone.

That is an entirely reasonable assumption.
