Conflict with military obligation

<p>This is what it says in the UC Berkeley Internation Transfer Website: “If you are from a country that requires military service upon the completion of secondary education, you should not apply until that obligation has been met.”</p>

<p>Does secondary school=high school?</p>

<p>So, in Korea most people are mandated to go to the army and most people go in their 2nd year of college. So, does this mean that I have to go to the army, then go through CC, then transfer to Berkeley in order to be elibible to apply?</p>

<p>you need to check with the school you’re interested in. i had a classmate last semester whose brother is currently at Emory after leaving Emory for his mandatory military service in ROK.</p>
