Conflicted about senior schedule

Hi, Iam soooo confused about my situation and I need any advice. My schedule is :AP GOV, AP Calculus, AP Literature, AP Physics, Leadership, Academic Decathlon. My predicament is whether to stay in Decathlon because It will lower down my GPA, I won’t have enough time to Study for SAT, basically it will devour my time. Now Im questioning if its worth to be in it because of the negative sides. What do you guys think I should do? Is Academic Decathlon worth the time that will really interest UCLA? Or will the high grades and high test scores look better?

you won’t report senior year GPA to UCLA and it will not affect admittance. you only need to maintain a 3.0 nonweighted to keep from getting your admission rescinded. as for SAT study time, shouldn’t you be done with your SAT’s?

Did really horrible, but going to take October test

if you drop academic decathlon, it’d be for more time to focus on SATs. UC’s dont consider senior year grades in terms of admissions (though they do check to see u have a 3.0 after youre admitted) but even if they did, academic decathlon isn’t an A-G subject and wouldnt be counted anyway.

also remember this is your senior year. if youre not having fun with academic decathlon, then drop it and do something fun cuz it’s your last year of high school. if the activity is time-consuming but worth it in the end, then stick with it.

in terms of admissions, the SAT score (among other things like GPA) puts you into consideration while the extracurricular activity is what makes you stand out while youre under consideration. thus, a decent SAT score should be your priority.
