Conflicting notification dates

<p>:( Please help, I don’t know what to do.</p>

<p>I applied to Pratt Institute and Barnard College. Pratt notifies me in a couple days and expects a reply by May 1st. Barnard notifies me May 15th. Barnard is my dream school, but I’m scared that, if I get into Pratt and hold out for Barnard, I won’t get in and I’ll be stuck at my current University. I like this place okay, but I’d really like to move back home and attend somewhere more artsy/liberal artsy as opposed to the more business-focused school I go to now.
Does anyone have any advice?</p>

<p>First, wait until you hear back from Pratt. If you are accepted there, call Pratt and request an extension and call Barnard and see if they can give you an early answer due to the time constraints.</p>

<p>Yes it seems schools somehow coordinate so you get decisions in reverse order of desirability. I have gotten my acceptances in exactly last to first choice order so far. I have already had to ask for more time from one school and am about to see if there is anything I can do to speed up my first choice’s decision.</p>
