confused about my GPA

<p>I got my transcript from school before summer began, but I’m at a loss as to how to calculate my GPA, especially considering I took extra classes in middle school. Should I count these in? Would any colleges look at it? And would my grades get anywhere–period? Or should I go to a community college first?</p>

<p>*I chose to take French and Algebra before high school to get extra credit. However, my Algebra teacher sucked and my parents wouldn’t let me out. Killed my grade sooo bad. >.<</p>

<p>I know my grades aren’t stellar. In sophomore year, I took off more than I could chew. I didn’t realize it at first, but it was; and last year, I got really, really sick for a very long time, and my grades suffered for it. However, I really want to look on the bright side and just see where I can go with this.</p>

<p>Satira, I don’t think middle school grades count (they don’t in our school system). As far as the other classes, are they all weighted the same (1/2 sem course is the same value for all courses)? If so use A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, multiply, add them up and divide by total parts. That would apply for unweighted GPA. I don’t know how your schools weights honors or AP so can’t help you there.</p>
