Seems that there are three letters on common app: one by official, one by instructor, and one by counselor. But many schools require at least two letters by instructors. What should I do?
Also, I’ve no idea who is my counselor here. It might sound strange, but I’m an international student. Does it mean an advisor or any professor?
At last, how can I get letters from officials? They don’t even know me. Does official refer to dean? Or just anyone in charge?

It’s ok (and best) that the dean doesn’t know you. If he did, it usually means that you had some disciplinary issues. The deans letter mostly just states that you’re in good standing with the school, etc (at least that’s what my dean told me).

As for the counselor, you could try the academic advising staff. We were assigned career counselors/academic advisors at the beginning of the school year in case we had any questions, concerns, or needs.

For transfer students, you only have Instructor LORs and the College Official’s form, which is filled out by your advisor or Dean or other official, it varies by the school so you have to ask and find out who fills it out at your college.

You need to check the college websites to see how many Instructor LORs they required. For transfers, they can only send them hard copy, no electronic submissions.

But there are only three forms for instructor, official, and counselor in the packet for transfer students. Counselor’s is only about the transcript.

“For transfers, they can only send them hard copy, no electronic submissions.” Where did you see that info? I didn’t find it on common app.

Sorry, I forgot to address the Secondary School Report, that is for your HS counselor, not college counselor. The SSR includes the GC report and the HS profile. You also need to have an official HS transcript sent.

From the CA Instructor Evaluation form:

Unless the CA has changed this year, college instructors cannot download LORs to the CA like HS teachers can.
