confused for ap next year

my senior schedule looks like this right now:
AP Calculus BC
AP Statistics
AP Literature
AP Micro
AP Maco
AP US Gov
AP Comp Gov

i have one more class empty and was going to fill it with AP Physics B
the thing is that my school next year will be offering AP Physics C Mechanics or EM most likely mechanics

For the past two years ive been talking to kids that have taken AP Physics B and they said it was impossible to pass, plus the teacher thinks you know it all when you really don’t

ive been seeing on here that physics c mechanics is easy to get a 5 on if you know it

my question is: which do you think i should do in order to look better for the colleges and do better for ap, do you think physics c mechanics is a beast or not?

well the thing with physics c is that there’s a calculus involved. Physics B on the other hand does not deal with calculus. However, the amount of material covered in physics b is a greater than physics c. Physics C covers less material (just mechanics, electricity, and magnetism) but in much more detail.

to answer you question it depends. What do you wish to be? If you wanna be an engineer physics c is definitely more impressive and will help you more in the long run. However, if you were not so good physics and do not wish to major in science or math, I believe Physics B would be most beneficial for you.

probobaly go on to med school, so physics b?

take physics C by all means. you’ll be taking calc at the same time so you’re fine.

I would definitely do Physics C Mechanics if I were you. A LOT less concepts to memorize than Phys B.

crunkk, why both ap govt classes senior year?
curious.
drop one of the govt to make room for phys C

my school sort of requires it, US gov is mandatory and if you take both economics you have a semester left over, so i can only fill it with a semester class and my guidance conselor said i should take another ap to keep my valedictorian class rank

gotcha,
well, the good news is if you are ready for calc then stat and econ should
pose no problems.
Phys C, go for it.

Physics B is a pain. So much to cover, and without calculus! Calculus makes everything so much easier.

A whole year of Physics C Mechanics would be pretty easy. You should be well prepared for the exam. Physics B is too much to remember, and the exam is tough…especially when your teacher does not cover everything.
