I’m also planning on attending the summer program of Penn, and doing about 200 hours of community service. I will probably apply early decision.

Do I have a solid shot in getting into any of the listed colleges (%-wise)? If not, please tell me what I can do to improve! I appreciate all feedback THANKS!!!

Cornell- 20%
Johns Hopkins- 30%
UPenn- 10%
Boston U- 60%
Washington University- 25%
Schreyers- 40%
Penn State- 90%
Brown- 5%

Cornell:40%
Johns Hopkins: 50%
UPenn (early decision): 50%
Boston U:95%
Washington University in St. Louis: 45%
Penn State Honors (Schreyers): Dunno
Penn State: 99.99%
Brown (?): 35%

the penn state one since you mentioned schreyers i guess you mean UP. looking at past posts its unpredictable on who gets accepted/rejected now cause so many people apply. and i see some lower stats that are accepted and higher stats rejected.

thx, any others?

bump !

what do u plan to major in?

Cornell 45%
Johns Hopkins 35%
UPenn 20%
Boston U 90%
Washington University in St. Louis 20%
Penn State Honors (Schreyers) dunno
Penn State 98%
Brown 15%

i plan on majoring in medicine so i figured the colleges i listed have the best med schools in the country

for med school i recommend johns hopkins

well thats what i was thinking, but i heard that Penn and Washingotn U also have great med schools? Anyone know which university has the best med school, or is this the wrong forum to ask?

Cornell- slight reach
Johns Hopkins- slight reach
UPenn- slight reach
Boston U- match
Washington University in St. Louis- slight reach
Penn State Honors (Schreyers)- match
Penn State- safety
Brown (?)- reach

thx a ton, also can anyone chance me on:

Duke
University of Washington

I just found out that they’re also really good med schools.

That’s actually a great point you bring up. I’ve been wanting to go to Duke for 5 years now…Simply because (of basketball and) Duke has a disproportionate undergrad admissions difficulty versus what it offers. If you want to go to Duke, I’d say its a slight reach, but bring up that GPA to say a 3.88, and do well senior year, and I’d call it a match.

ok, so could chance me at the listed colleges AS WELL AS Duke?

I have no idea where some of these percents are coming from. Cornell, for example, admits between 25-30% of all applications. So, the guy that gave you 20% thinks you’re a less than average candidate? You’re not! I would definately say 50%+ at Cornell. Instead of trusting all these people, just look at collegeboard for percent admitted, idea of class rank, and average SAT/ACT.

U just found out that duke is a good med school? R u serious? That school is Fing amazing in medicine. Im surprised u just heard bout it.

Other than that, i think that duke is like WashU. If u can get into either, u should be able to get into the other.

U have a very good chance in all ure colleges right now. if u buff up a good essay and recs, u should be even set.

So dont worry. Just get ure GPA little more. u wont have that much of a prob at all…

well zdub, u hafta understand that he is a less than average candidate compared to the other people who apply to Cornell.

Duke 30%
University of Washington 75%

Another University I recommend is University if Pittsburgh, for which I give u a 80%

SAT Critical Reading: 630 - 720
SAT Math: 660 - 760

Those scores are the middle 50% for Cornell Mikey888… too bad he is on the highest end of both of those. He is also almost a straight A student in all honors every year.

will going to the Penn summer program increase my chances of being accepted to Penn?
