Ok, at my school we offer honors chem in 10th, 3rd semester chem (nuclear chem etc) in 11th, and AP Chem in 12th. I took 3rd semester and honors chem and got a 770 on the sat II. Do I need to bother trying much in AP chem for the AP test? Basically, how closely does the SAT II align with the AP test

The tests are not very similar. The SAT II tests simple formulas and concepts while the AP goes much more indepth. On the SAT II, you might be asked to pick a base that will neutralize an acid. On the AP, you’ll have to figure out how much base needs to be put in a buffer solution for the acid. The AP test really focuses on problem solving. They cover the same topics but at different levels.
