Hello,

I was just wondering if someone could explain to me what an internship in the UC system means, primarily @ UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Riverside area. Does it just give you the experience or is it a gateway to an actual job in the company.

I am reading about these awesome internship opportunities but just wondering some of your before and after stories about them.

thank you.

Internship is defined as getting college credit/low pay for an entry level position basically. It helps to give you experience on your resume and most top interns are kept on by the company after their internship ends.

UC Irvine is a big feeder school of engineering majors to broadcom. PWC,Deloitte,Ernest and
Young all have headquarter within 20 miles UCI and also recruit from UCI. There are also numerous other firms but those are the big names that recruit regularly at UCI from what i have seen.
