Confused Sophomore

I attend the Whitehead School of Diplomacy and IR at Seton Hall University and i’m dyinngggg to go to GTOWN LAW. However I sucked at life last year (Freshman year) and my GPA was a 3.25, if i continue with the grades that i’ve been getting to recover from that, however, then I should end up with a 3.70 by the end of junior year. I know that a 3.7 from SHU is not the same as a 3.7 at a top 20 school but I am in the honors program here (if that helps…) So here are a few of my questions:

I can’t double major because I would never graduate on time unless I stayed for the summer - but cannot do that because I plan on studying abroad and interning…etc…but I only go to SHU, although I am in the honors program I really don’t think that I will measure up…advice?

I plan on applying early decision to either GTOWN Law or GWU Law so I would like to take my LSATS before applying (obvi) When do you think is the best time to start studying (obvi ASAP) but on average, when did students who did VERY well on the LSAT start studying for it?

Also this is VERY Hypothetical but:

3.7 GPA from SHU studying IR/Arabic, Honors Program Student
170 LSAT

chances at:
Gtown*
GWU*
Fordham

*must decide on which to apply for Early Decision - which brings about a few more questions:

I love gtowwnn and have wanted to go there since FOREVER and I would apply early decision here in a heartbeat if only GWU early decision wasn’t so tempting (free ride for all three yrs if accepted early…) - thoughts? advice?

Also - if I applied early decision to both - how would either school know that they were the only school I applied early to? Basically, would I get caught if I applied early to both?

Thanks!

Questions regarding chances and admissions cannot be usefully answered without an actual LSAT score.

well, I’d like to know what to aim for - obviously the highest possible score I can get - but I just wanted to know for sure.

If it helps, I’ve taken two practice tests and have scored in the 160ish range

Assuming 3.7 and a 170, I would say very good chance. I assumed that I would do well on the SAT and ACT. Turns out, I didn’t study enough. I did terrible.

awesome. thats a great website - thanks.

I just want to revert back to one of the many questions that I had asked previously:

Is there anyway either gtown/gwu would know that I applied early decision to both schools?

What happens if you get into both and you have agreed to attend both?

Don’t break the rules when it comes to applying to law school of all places.

Edited to add - if they do find out, you’ll be rejected at both - no doubt.

Bar examines such issues very closely.

One way they’d find out is if both admitted you, and you had to explain to one of them that you weren’t coming. Another way is if the admissions staff knows each other or agrees to share lists (very likely).

Anyone who’d do something like this should and probably would be weeded out of the law profession–either by being rejected from law school (not only would both schools reject you, but you’d have to disclose it on any future law school applications and you likely wouldn’t get in there either) or by the character and fitness part of the bar admission.

Thanks for the graphs.
