Confused. What does Test Optional mean?

<p>For example, when a school says “SAT 1 or ACT scores are optional for US citizens and US permanent residents”.
Does it mean that if you don’t submit SAT 1 or ACT scores, you have to submit SAT 2 scores?</p>

<p>No. It has nothing to do with SAT II. It means that they do not require the test for admission. If you feel your SAT I doesn’t reflect your abilities and grades, you do not have to provide it. there are a great number of test optional colleges and some are prominent ones.</p>
