<p>I submitted my app to UM on 10/31 and was notified that I met the early response deadline. I still haven’t heard anything back, but a lot of my friends who applied at the same time or later than I have heard back. I’ve been checking WA religiously the past month, hoping to see the “view decision” prompt. Does UM not notify you on WA if you’ve been deferred? Also, a few days ago something new popped up on WA. Under the “credentials” section, a new field was there that said “7th semester grades” and next to it it said “notified”. Does this mean I’ve been deferred and they want to see my grades? I haven’t received any notification via email or snail mail, and I just went out of town for Christmas, so I won’t be able to check my mail for another week. Will UM send me an email or do they only notify through snail mail for deferrals?–I know my friends who were accepted all received emails, although for some of them they didn’t come until a couple days after they saw their decision on WA.</p>
<p>There was a slight problem with my application in that although my teacher submitted her rec on 10/14, UM didn’t mark it as received until 11/23, an error which I assume should be attributed to the admissions office’s morass of bureaucracy. </p>
<p>Can anyone shed any light on my situation? UMich is not my first choice, so it isn’t the end of the world if I’m deferred, but I would just like to know. I’m sick and tired of waiting.</p>
