I have taken the Act 4 times now and my nights is a 22.(24 on math and science) I do not know what to do anymore since I wanted to do engineering but I don’t feel smart enough. I am getting my AA in high school but it doesn’t guarantee me admissions to ucf or Florida tech until I take 12 credit hours after HS graduation. I have a couple of questions. My interests are mainly physics and engineering but I also enjoy finance
- Should I switch my major, and if so, which?
- My UW And w are 3.2-3.6 but last year it was 3.8-4.2 for my junior year. Should I even bother applying to ucf?
- Any general advice on what to do. I feel like I’m not smart enough and am very confused now on what is a good decision for me.
Thanks
If you are in the top 10 percent of your class and have an act 21+ your guaranteed acceptance to ucf. If you’re not apply anyways just take the 12 credits after hs and transfer. Or look for other schools (fau fiu)
@FloridaBoy954 I’m not the top ten so that was my plan if I didn’t get in, thank you!
@netter11 I hope so I just don’t know d engineering is right for me
Thanks!
What math are you taking this year? Have you taken a physics class - if so, which one (s)?
I think you are right that you are going to struggle in engineering. You say you might be interested in finance, what about other areas of business as well? Finance is the hardest business major in my opinion.
@MYOS1634 my school only offers Aice physics to seniors and I decided to go full time dual enrolled instead but I did get a 92 in honors physics my junior year @intparent I like investments and stuff like that so that’s why I thought of finance. I don’t really like accounting much, I like economics but that’s about it. I really like engineering but I don’t want to waste a lot of time and money
Can you take a physics course at your cc, especially if it’s on the quarter system? This would give you a better idea. You can also check out MIT’s or Coursera’s online classes, taking things seriously and completing assignments etc.
I’ll take a look at the the websites you mention, thank you! @MYOS1634
