Confusion on financial aid switch

A little back story before my question. I am retaking two classes to raise my gpa. I have been provisionally accepted to another school for their paralegal program based on passing the two classes with a higher grade. I am taking one class right now, the other will begin in the summer time. When I initially started this process, I was told by my financial aid adviser I had grants, and loans available to use. The amount left on the loans was 15k. We got me enrolled in the first class and I accepted the financial aid offer. The trick here is somehow the financial aid information changed and I have only been awarded the grants and no longer have the 15k. My financial aid adviser told me I had this much left to use for my undergraduate degree. The class I am taking is a cohort, which is shorter but a little more expensive than a traditional term. My question is, how can my financial aid package change after I clicked accept, and the school did not inform me? Aren’t I responsible for what I accept? The school has not presented me with any documentation, and I learned I was enrolled in an course that is technically a “winter” course. The class began 3/18/2019, unsure of how that is a winter course. This has become tremendously confusing, I have tried to speak with the director and the meeting fell through, and no one is providing me with an explanation, or proof so I can understand this. I’ve talked to people who have experience something similar to this before.

“Winter” has to do with how that particular college/university labels its terms. Don’t worry about that.

But do get a face-to-face meeting with the financial aid office so that they can talk you through the aid package.

What $15,000 in loans do you have? What kind of loans?

Is the paralegal program a degree granting program, and is it a for-profit college?

You are taking make up courses at another school. You have to be a degree seeking student at a school to get federal loans. You also need to be at least a half time student and taking one class probably doesn’t get you to that status.

You can only borrow $31,000 total for undergrad if you are dependent, and $57,500 if you are independent. If the school discovered that you are at your limit, they were required by law to remove the loans they offered. Are you at your limit?
