Congress: Trading stock on inside information?

<p>This is not a real political thread but a rather eye opener why majority (not all) Republican and democrat congressman/senators etc. wants to go to Washington DC. They do not do it for public service but to make money like 1%</p>

<p>The solution is not to make the practice illegal. Making it illegal will only promote frivolous claims by party opponents. The solution is to require immediate disclosure of every trade made by a member of congress. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.</p>

<p>In theory, elected officials could put their assets in a blind trust, but there are problems with respect to members of Congress (as opposed to the executive branch), as described here:</p>
