On last supplement essay here and hit a stumbling block on the ‘why’ special meaning.
So one of the prompts on ConnColl is:

Tell us about your favorite place and why it holds special meaning for you. It can be close to home or on another continent, your kitchen or a mountaintop.

And I hit a stumbling block. I just need some ideas from the community about their reasons? So what is your favorite place and why? (just need 2-3 sentences)

Well, my friend and I are applying there and she asked me to read hers about her living room. She said it was a place for family gathering and linked it with the idea of community and importance of family. I wrote/ am writing about my bathroom. I seriously get the best ideas in there (although, ironically enough, I did not write this essay in the bathroom unlike most of my other ones). Since I don’t really have my own space and my family is loud, it’s a place of solitude and an opportunity to concentrate and focus. I’m on my first draft still but my friend looked at me weird and wondered if it was about that other thing you do in the bathroom. I’m currently trying to decide if I should change my room but I want to avoid being generic with the whole family room idea.

A place you experience that gave you a life-changing experience. (i.e. Africa, lower class city… made you feel fortunate and be grateful to things you have)

For me, maybe circumstance like American stepfather and I’m Asian; we’re not close, but whenever Dallas Cowboys play, we always gather together in the living room. Place of special bonding.

Or if you participate in extracurricular, sports, church etc. On the field it make yourself feel important and needed, perhaps you like the feeling of being depended on. Make great contributions…

Church wise… it help you ease your mind from hardships. Spiritual happiness etc

Whatever is important to you… Good luck mate.
