Would a Christian conservative (who supports Trump) be happy at UCB?
If political support for Trump is your main means of self-identification, you should not be surprised if UCB undergraduate students are mostly opposed, considering that they are heavily skewed toward demographics that are opposed to Trump:
- California residents
- Non-white
- Age 18-29
While UCB undergraduate students are currently not college graduates, they are probably more like college graduates than other college non-graduates in terms of political preferences.
Those two words (Conservative and Berkeley) in the same sentence make me laugh out loud. Why would you put yourself through that? And you are Christian…maybe you can get in as an underrepresented minority.
It’s up to you to be happy or to be unhappy. If you don’t try to “convert” anyone and if you believe that people with different backgrounds, religions, political associations, sexual orientations, … can live and work together, you’ll be fine.
My D is more conservative than Ronald Reagan (there is a test online somewhere as how conservative a person is), she was so happy at UCB as an undergrad that she chose UCB among 5 top-10 schools for her PhD. As far as I can tell, she is still happy there.
