I applied to Princeton Last year, and I want to offer a piece of advice no one ever told me: Don’t let yourself become infatuated with only one school.

You might feel that you have a good chance at a school like Princeton, and you may. I had several letters of recommendations from full professors at Princeton and a slew of prestigious awards, but I didn’t make it. You may be quietly thinking to yourself “There must have been something wrong with his application” or “His essays must have sucked” or something to that effect. And the truth is, there was something wrong with my application, only I’m not sure what it was. You will never know if there’s something with your application until you get your decision letter in the mail, and frankly, it shouldn’t matter.

Make sure you don’t put your eggs in one basket. Invest in more than one sector of the market. Make sure you get yourself interested in more than one school.

For when I was rejected from Princeton, it almost ruined me.

Good luck, and be well.
