Considerate Roomate looking for advise

I have no complaints about my roommate, who seems to rarely be in the room and very social. I am quite the opposite, and am very happy that way. The problem is that I read that I am the worst type of roommate to live with, the one that doesn’t leave the room. To be clear, I am very accommodating and flexible. I have told my roommate multiple times to tell me if there is a problem. I make no noise, keep my side of the room clean and sanitary, and generally don’t cause my roommate any problems that I can tell. Am I being unfair staying in the room, even if I am considerate? The way I see it is, if he hasn’t voiced a concern, and I am paying for the room, that I am fine. Thanks for the advice!

I never cared when my roommates were in the room all of the time, and I would certainly not consider that the worse kind of roommate. It’s your room. You can be in it as long as you want to.

Only thing that bothers me about my roommate being in the room all of the time is that she is always sleeping… Which makes it impossible for me to do anything. But that doesn’t seem to be an issue here.

The only reason that’s the “worst kind of roommate” is because it makes it hard for him to bring a girl back for the night, but as long as you have ground rules set for that then there shouldn’t be a problem at all.
