So my situation is as followed. I was a full time student at a Community College, when some of my friends convinced me to apply to this 4 year school. I decided to give it a try, and long story short ended up getting accepted. Now my situation begins. While at the CC, I was able to accredit 18 credit hours which would transfer to the 4 year school. 9 credits which consist of my 2 english courses and history go towards my degree of computer science. Technically I am a freshman still but at the same time a transfer. So like I said, I have friends going to this school and two would like to room with me and I didn’t mind that as we were all doing the same major (they are incoming freshman from high school).
Onto the housing contract. Both of my friends had already requested me as a roommate on their contracts. It was my turn now. I log on and see 3 options: 1). New First Year Students. 2). New Transfer Students. 3). New Grad/Law Students. I wasn’t sure what option to pick, 1 or 2. So I called the housing department and got some kid probably doing work study, who kept putting me on hold to run back and forth, (I’m guessing trying to find or talking to someone who might know the answer to my question). Time goes by and I get the answer that I should click option number 2, New Transfer Student and that I would still be able to request my buddies even though its different housing and different years. I attempt option 2 and make it to the preferences for housing. I didn’t see the options they had for the different names but I was able to choose a triple. I found the tab to request certain roommates and started to input their student ID numbers. Well I was only able to request one out of the two and I couldn’t find out why. I decided to cancel that contract and call again tomorrow.
I guess I’m just trying to figure this out and maybe someone has been in my position before and could shed some advice on what to do and maybe what might come of my situation.
