Big, big hug to you. I am so proud of you for taking the right steps towards a satisfying career and a healthy life! And I’m hoping that the new medication is making you feel a tiny bit better every day!!! Another hug… you are doing something hard!

Update: I should’ve mentioned this earlier, but I went on a huge email spree to journalists and reporters last weekend about the program cuts despite what I asked.

Three of them got back to me and I just got off the phone with one.

I get that I shouldn’t be hung up on the program cuts to the point its eating away at me nor can I force them to write about it. However, I’ve officially let the cat out of the bag at this point and I think there’s little I can do to turn back.

I’m going to remain anonymous most likely. I let them know about the Board of Trustees meeting on March 15th where things will be announced. Since the ball’s in the media’s court now, I think I can rest fine knowing that and they’ll go from there.

So you posted on Sunday saying you were “considering” contacting journalists.

You said it’s an urgent matter and there is a meeting on March 12.

Then you said you went on a “spree” of emailing journalists anyway. And that you should have mentioned it earlier. Between Sunday when you first posted, and yesterday, Tuesday, you had already contacted journalists but didn’t mention it until today.

I’m not sure of your reasons for posting, but I get a sense that you want others to absolve you of blame. Regardless, you have taken your action so there isn’t anything we can advise you about in this matter. Closing. Best of luck as you finish your PhD.
