My son is considering to commit to CWRU, our concern is that its not well known in nthe west coast and there is several tech companies here and we would definitely want him to come back here for opportunities/internships etc.
Are there west coast families who have gone through the same concern and did you decide to go to CWRU and how was the experience for engineering. There are lot of students who are going from west coast for premed and not many engineering students. Please share experiences and advise around the same.
You cannot make a college decision hoping to get into one of several companies - there are a zillion companies out there. Whether you can get into one or not won’t be related to CWRU. It will be related to what’s open (tech is trending down now), and how your student presents themselves. Kids from many “not well known names” end up all over. And I wouldn’t say CWRU isn’t unknown - but there are many schools that the public doesn’t know but employers will - and CWRU is certainly one.
If that’s the right school for your student, then it’s the right school for your student.
