Considering dropping French 232.

I placed into 4th semester French and so far, my grade is probably either a B or a B-. I remember hearing somewhere that I need at least a B+ for it to fulfill the Foreign Language requirement necessary for a BBA (look at the bottom of [Core Courses - Stephen M. Ross School of Business](<a href=“Faculty Academic Areas | Michigan Ross”>Faculty Academic Areas | Michigan Ross)). Can anyone verify if this is true?

While I had originally planned to take the course for one semester and be done with the FL requirement, I am considering dropping the class because it does not seem like I will get the B+ necessary for it to meet the standards of the requirement. I think it will only get harder. I also need to maintain my preferred admit status.

Opinions? Should I drop it or not? I’m currently taking 16 credits (4 of which are FR232), and I will be adding 2 UROP credits at the beginning of October.

I’d say keep it. I mean you never know if you get a B+, you can finish one of the requirements. If you don’t then you can just not count languages as one of your core requirements for your BBA (I think we can elect to not do one of them). It really is all contingent upon how your other grades are, think you can pull off As?

While you don’t have to fufill the requirement, you would only need a C- or better to do so. ([College of Literature, Science, and the Arts : Students](http://www.lsa.umich.edu/bulletin/chapter3/ab_bs/lr))

Also, I don’t know if Ross grants retroactive credit for high placement, but if you were in LSA, you would earn 4 credits for being placed into and then completing French 232 with a grade of B or better.
