gov: pr, ap us: amsco for sure and you can get it at barnes and noble, world: pr all the way, barron’s is a mistake for world

Cliffnotes.com for all ap exams!!!

Which one is easier to self study? Physics B, C(e&m) or C(M)

What does each one require as pre-req knowledge?

Also, the info for Gov: comparative and Gov: US is difficult to estimate. Which one is easier to self study? I have some knowledge in both fields(ush and wh courses) The numbers are 40%ish for 4 and 5s(4k ppl) for comparative, but 25%(45k ppl) for us gov. Can any1 help me decide?

What about if you’re self-studying for the examination and aren’t taking the actual course?

then you use cliffnotes.com

Bassir,

I would suggest getting a review book/textbook, review books are much cheaper than textbooks though, and often more readable.

It seems that nobody can settle on a good review book for Physics B. What are your recommendations, CC?

For APUSH, is Amsco and REA enough?

thanks :)

What would you recommend for AP Calc BC besides PR as a prep book?

Thanks for your help!

^Acro/Petersons

PR is good for APES.

Are these suggestions more for instruction within the book, or quality of practice problems?

After going through all 51 pages I concluded the following books are useful to me for next year. Is this ok?
I’m looking for accurate practice tests/questions and accuracy above all else.

Chem: PR
Physics C: PR (what do people think about APADVANTAGE?)
BC: Peterson’s may get Be Prepared for the AP Calc Exam (unless they’re the same thing. Someone clarify)
Lang: Cliffs
Lit: Cliffs
Comp Sci: Be Prepared blah blah by Litvin and Barron’s

I recommend:
APUSH: AMSCO for sure. Get it used on amazon etc. for like $10 or less especially now because people wanna sell.
Bio: I thought Cliff’s was good. I had 5 steps to a 5 but didn’t use it much.

My Tally Mark Chart (according to the last 51 pages):
For Chem:
PR: 20
Barron’s: 5
Peterson’s: 3
Kaplan: 1

For Physics C:
Barron’s: 4
PR: 13
APADVANTAGE: 2 (but these people say it was amazing, i’m interested in learning more)
5 Steps to a 5: 1

For BC Calc:
Arco (Peterson’s): 10
PR: 12
REA: 1
Barron’s (apparently MC’s are good): 7
Be Prepared blah blah: 6

Lang:
Cliff’s (tests): 10
PR: 2
REA: 2
Barron’s: 1
5 steps to a 5: 1
Kaplan (this person used it in addition to Cliff’s for + review): 1

For Lit:
PR: 1
REA: 3
Addison-Wesley’s Review for the Computer Science AP Exam in Java: 1
Barron’s: 6
5 Steps to a 5 (this person claimed nothing else was necessary): 1
Be Prepared blah blah (by Litvin): 5

Hey,

has there been any mention of the best review books for AP foreign languages?
Primarily for French, in my case?
I know that you can’t study only with a review book for foreign languages.
I’m looking for a review book that would provide a quick overview of all the topics/grammatical constructs/etc. that would be included and the format of AP exam.

Hey,

I’m taking AP French this year, and my teacher recommended Barron’s so that’s what I’m using. :)

When my school had AP French, the teacher gave every student a copy of the Barron’s review. It helped kids do well on the exam and at *Congr

Alright, thanks. Barrons AP French it is.

I’ll be self-studying 5 APs. Are my book choices correct and do I need any supplemental books?

AP Human Geography - Barrons
AP Psychology - Barrons and PR
AP Calculus BC (will be taking AB class) - PR
AP Physics C: E&M - PR
AP English Language - Cliffs Notes

I really think I would need additional texts for Physics C: E&M and English Lang… or maybe just for all of them lol. What are your opinions? Thanks a bunch!

For Physics C: E/M, PR is good. Using a textbook might also be beneficial, I think the best are Fundamentals of Physics (Halliday, Resnick, and Walker) or Physics for Scientists and Engineers (Serway and Faughn). You can probably find these reasonably priced on amazon or half.com :)

I tutor in physics and those are the three I like best :p

TY. What’s a good calc book though. I noticed that in AP Physics C a lot of the work consists of physics physic input in MAGIC CALC BOX==>yields an answer. I was under the impression that I need the Calc for Physics before I start no?

@Shizzle: Thanks for the book suggestion (Arco for BC) – just one followup question that’s open to everyone – where can I actually get a copy of it? :P

Everyone seems to have their inventory of it sold out, which isn’t very awesome.

Thanks!
